Asia’s already hot luxury market just set a new bar when it comes to record sales. According to Bloomberg, a Hong Kong apartment sold for $82.2 million (HK$640 million).
The apartment, located on the Peak, a luxury residential area on Hong Kong Island, spans approximately 4,544 square feet. That means the sale breaks down to $18,000 per square foot—making it Asia’s most expensive per square foot home sale.
If that weren’t enough, the same unidentified buyer also dropped another $72 million (HK$561 million) on an adjacent apartment bringing the total bill to more than $154 million (HK$1.2 billion) for the transaction, according to the developers.
