If a property becomes available in your first-choice neighborhood, your best bet is to move on it whether it’s finished or not. At least that seems to be a play out of Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel’s playbook, according to new info out from Dirt.
Spiegel and his wife, model Miranda Kerr, have reportedly purchased two side-by-side parcels in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles—one parcel empty while the other has a partially built mansion. According to Dirt, Spiegel paid $25 million for the empty lot (1.4 acres), and another $75 million (via shell company) for the larger 2.6-acre parcel that contains the gutted mansion.
Spiegel made the deal with English billionaire Ian Livingstone, who bought both properties—located across from the Playboy Mansion—in two separate transactions for a total of $72 million. No word on whether Spiegel and Kerr plan to finish out the contraction on the preexisting home or start from scratch.
Jonathan Nash and Stephen Resnick of Hilton & Hyland held the listing, while Drew Fenton, also of Hilton & Hyland, repped the buyers.
