The 230-acre property known as Porcupine Creek Ranch is getting a rebrand and repurposing, with the announcement that Larry Ellison will transform the ranch into his second Sensei wellness retreat in the U.S.
According to the L.A. Business Journal, Ellison bought the property 10 years ago for $43 million. Since then, he has gotten into the wellness business, creating Sensei three years ago with Dr. David Agus. Together, they currently operate Sensi Lanai in Hawaii (in partnership with Four Seasons Resort).
“With Sensei Porcupine Creek, we have the opportunity to offer our programming in a stunning luxury setting that takes advantage of its majestic desert location, which has long been a destination for health and wellness seekers,” said Kevin Kelly, CEO of Sensei, in a statement.
The new Sensei Porcupine Creek will feature a small number of hotel rooms in the former estate house, as well as private villas. Renowned for its private golf course and tennis facilities, Sensei Porcupine Creek will offer spa, yoga, nutrition, movement, and other wellness and sports programs.
Sensei Porcupine Creek is expected to open in early 2022.
