As we reported last week, California’s overall sales eased off a bit in May, but regionally speaking, SoCal and Central California are still very hot!
Santa Barbara County saw an 18 percent increase in median sale prices between April 2021 and May 2021—now averaging $1,299,000. When comparing the most recent numbers with May 2020, Santa Barbara saw a 103.8 percent increase in it’s media sale price!
As seen across the state, sales numbers themselves were down slightly, down 2.1 percent in Santa Barbara last month.
In nearby San Luis Obispo, both sales and prices were down in May—one of just a handful of counties to see declines in both columns. The average sale price in SLO last month was $775,000, down from $799,950 the month prior.
