In what seems like a continual turnover of record-setting listings, a newly constructed Orange County property has just been named the priciest on the market—with an asking price of $69,800,000!
The Crystal Cove mansion, dubbed “Palais de Cristal,” sits on a half-acre lot in the pricey enclave. According to the O.C. Register, the three-story estate features seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, ocean-view library, two kitchens, a huge wine cellar and state-of-the-art theatre.
Conceived by home furnishings entrepreneur Michael Amini, Palais de Cristal spares no expense on design, either. There’s a custom stained-glass dome created by Judson Studios, the oldest family-run stained glass studio in the U.S., as well as custom chandeliers, white Jordanian marble floors, hand-carved onyx artwork, and floor-to-ceiling onyx walls.
Should the property sell at asking—or even a few million under—it would surpass the current largest sale record in Orange County, set last year at $61 million.
Rex McKown and Marcy Weinstein at McKown Weinstein and Associates of Compass hold the listing.
