Even homes with a notorious crime history can sell in today’s market. After about two years of trying to offload the home where Phil Spector murdered Lana Clarkson, Spector’s former wife, Rachelle Short, has found a buyer.
According to the L.A. Times, Short has sold the Alhambra castle for $3.3 million—some $2.2 million under the property’s initial asking price.
Known as Pyrenees Castle, the 1925 home has exchanged hands numerous times over the years, but no owner was more infamous than Spector, who was convicted of murdering clarkson in the mansion’s marble foyer in 2003. Spector had purchased the home a few years prior for $1.1 million.
The estate boasts nearly 11,000 square feet of living space, with 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in the main house, along with panoramic views from atop it’s hill perch, as noted by the L.A. Times.
No word on the new buyer, with Tim Durkovic of Douglas Elliman representing both ends of the deal.
