The Bella Terra Mall may not only get a renovation, but also a boost in occupancy with plans for the development of 300 apartments just brought forth to the planning commission.
According to Urbanize, the project would demolish a portion of the Bella Terra shopping center to make way for a new five-story complex featuring 300 residential units, as well as 25,000 square feet of ground-floor shops and restaurants. The proposal calls for demolishing some 245,000 square feet of existing space.
Of the 300 units, 45 would be designated as affordable housing. Urbanize notes that the project would help aide the city in meeting it’s larger goal of building 13,000+ new homes in the next eight years, as part of the Souther California Association of Governments’ regional housing assessment.
