Sometimes you can go home again—but it’ll cost you.
Professional house flippers Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have reportedly re-bought the Montecito ranch they sold just three years ago, dropping $14.3 million on the property.
According to Dirt, DeGeneres and de Rossi paid $7.2 million for Rancho San Leandro in September 2017, renovated and sold it less than a year later for $11 million to Tinder co-founder Sean Rad. Now that the couple has sold the last of their Los Angeles properties (and have been crashing at friend Courteney Cox’s home), it looks like the duo is heading back to Montecito.
Rad listed the rancho pre-pandemic for $12.7 million, but removed the property from the market early last year. Looks like patience paid off, as DeGeneres and de Rossi have now reportedly paid nearly $2 million over the initial asking price!
Located in one of Montecito’s most exclusive gated communities—and next door to Oprah—the ranch features a number of properties totaling around 6,700 square feet of living space across six acres.
