Janelle Brevard, former chief storyteller for the National Association of Realtors, has suddenly dropped her brief lawsuit against the Association. Brevard had accused NAR and President Kenny Parcell of racial and sexual harassment following her firing from the organization.
The motion filed yesterday asked to dismiss the case “with prejudice,” which means Brevard cannot file the suit again.
According to Inman, In the initial complaint, Brevard claimed that while working for NAR she had a relationship with Parcell that involved “sexually explicit conversations as well as Parcell’s request for sexual favors.” When Brevard reportedly told Parcell she wanted to end the relationship in June 2022, Parcell allegedly began excluding her from work activities and disparaging her.
NAR later fired Brevard, described in the complaint as racial harassment because three other women who are white and also spoke to attorneys about Parcell did not lose their jobs.
