The tiny home movement is getting quite the boost from a major retailer as The Home Depot unveils its Getaway Pad. The one bedroom unit with roof deck will run you $43,832—plus windows, doors and other finishings.
This framing kit is designed for easy assembly on a concrete slab. The Getaway Pad home kit has allowances in the steel frame structure design for all elements required, offering 620 square feet of living space.
According to the product description, the steel frame is not affected by termites, mold, rodents or bugs, and they are also fire resistant. Included in the $43K price tag: delivery of the materials, preliminary architectural plans, stamped engineering plans, pre-assembled numbered panels and brackets/fittings.
Buyers also likely need permits to build the ADU on property.
