An original Doheny family beach house is off the market just two weeks after its listing. Actor Anthony Edwards sold the Capistrano Beach home for $6,550,000—an even $50,000 over asking.
This classic Spanish Colonial Revival rests behind a discrete privacy wall and guard gates on an oversized 10,000-plus square foot coastal lot. The five bedroom/five bathroom home is lined with classic era details; the home’s natural wood beamed accents, a tiled barrel ceiling chef’s kitchen, French doors and vintage hardware throughout all add to the home’s natural beauty.
The spot is steeped in local legend, of course, as Edward Doheny, Jr. (son of oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny) acquired the tract of oceanfront property in the O.C. before his untimely and suspicious death in 1929. The Doheny family eventually completed the project, developing what is now known as Dana Point.
Justin Alexander of Compass held the listing while Brad Butler of MINT Residential Services repped the buyer.
