Looks like Brad Pitt really did narrowly miss paying up on the new so-called mansion tax in Los Angeles!
Property records now reveal that Pitt did, in fact, sell his legendary Los Feliz compound for $33 million (not that $39 million Entertainment Tonight previously reported) and a bit under the $40 million that actor was seeking. So who’s the new owner?!
Aileen Getty, philanthropist and granddaughter of J. Paul Getty.
Now comprised of multiple lots adjacent to the original property, Pitt turned neighboring properties into a swimming pool, tennis court and skating rink over the year. Now, the entire property encompasses 1.9 acres. The main residence, a 6,692-square-foot Craftsman, was built in 1915. This home has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. During Pitt’s time as homeowner, he and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie raised their six children in the home.
The actor bought the original property from Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira) in 1994 for $1.7 million.
Pitt was reportedly jointly represented in the current deal by Jonathan Mogharrabi of Compass and Marci Kays of The Agency.
