Many a “Disney adult” may wish to live at Disneyland, and while that’s not necessarily possible, soon fans of the mouse will get to live amongst Disney-inspired offerings. The previously announced Cotino is becoming closer to a reality in Rancho Mirage, with Disney announcing new details for its first-ever planned community.
Cotino will be home to a 24-acre lake surrounded by single family homes, estates, condos and a senior section for residents 55 and older. The 618-acre development will also include a hotel, shopping mall, waterfront club and private beach area.
New details just released from the company include some incredible offerings, highlighted in the video below. Among them, residents who purchase a membership through the company’s “Artisan Club” will have access to several Disney and Pixar-inspired offerings, including a gathering place and party venue styled after the home of the Parr family—the secret identities of the titular family from The Incredibles film franchise.
“The main entertaining room will take inspiration from the movie and will feature a towering indoor/outdoor rockwork fireplace,” a press release from Storyliving by Disney reads. “Additional spaces will include five bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, boardroom and an art studio. Along Parr House’s exterior, an elevated patio will present stunning views of the grand oasis and the surrounding mountains.”
Additional club offerings include a beachfront clubhouse with a fitness center, pool, pickleball court and restaurant; curated Disney signature events, performances and seasonal celebrations; and volunteer opportunities.
In all, Cotino will boast 1,700 homes and 400 hotel rooms, once completed. Disney will not be the real estate developer, builder or property seller of the Cotino community. Scottsdale-based developer DMB Development is developing the master-planned community.
Sales are expected to begin this year.
