Handbag Designer Tyler Ellis, daughter of the late designer Perry Ellis, has listed her French chateau-inspired estate for $42 million.
Ellis and her husband, investor Benjamin Shriner, tapped the home’s original architect, William Hefner, and design firm the Archers, to both renovate the existing house and add a second structure, according to marketing materials.
The second level of the two-story main house includes three bedrooms plus a primary suite with a separate dual closets and baths, along with a private den. The main level features a formal dining room, library, an office plus ensuite bath with floor-to-ceiling glass French doors, a La Cornue accessorized kitchen, and an elegant family room, all leading out to the upper patio with views of the manicured garden, pool, spa and bocce ball court.
The newly built three-story back house features a grand entertainment area with pocketed sliding glass doors on the main level. The second-floor features two bedrooms, each with Romeo and Juliette balconies with one accessed via private entrance with a quiet outdoor sitting area and equipped with an outdoor shower.
A secret button reveals a marble staircase to the subterranean level, where you’ll find a speakeasy bar and lounge, a professional grade home movie theater, and a hidden 6500 bottle Burgundian style, limestone wine cellar.
Aaron Kirman and Morgan Trent of Christie’s hold the listing.
