The average interest rates for both 15-year fixed and 30-year fixed mortgages both moved higher, as did the refinance counterparts. Here’s how the week ended, according to CNET:
The 30-year fixed-mortgage rate average is 6.79 percent, up 18 basis points from seven days ago. The average rate for a 15-year, fixed mortgage is 6.16 percent, which is an increase of 20 basis points compared to last week.
A 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgage has an average rate of 5.56 percent, up eight basis points compared to a week ago.
Turning to refis, the average 30-year fixed refinance is currently at 6.89 percent, an increase of 20 basis points over this time last week. For 15-year fixed refinances, the average rate is currently 6.22 percent, up 21 basis points from what we saw the previous week.
The average 10-year fixed refinance rate is 6.23 percent, an increase of 27 basis points over last week.
