Following weeks on the decline, mortgage rates rose for the week ending Dec. 9. Here’s how the popular options shook out, according to CNET:
For a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage, the average rate is 6.63 percent, up 12 basis points compared to last week. The average rate for a 15-year, fixed mortgage is 6.01 percent, which is an increase of 10 basis points from the same time last week.
A 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgage has an average rate of 5.48 percent, up just one basis point compared to a week ago.
The average 30-year fixed refi rate is 6.64 percent, an increase of nine basis points from one week ago. The average rate for a 15-year fixed refinance loan is currently 6.08 percent, an increase of 17 basis points compared to one week ago.
The average 10-year fixed refinance rate right now is 6.11 percent, up 19 basis points over last week.
