A record 32.6 percent of Redfin users nationwide looked to move from one metro to another in the second quarter of the year—up slightly from 32.3 percent in the first quarter and roughly 26 percent before the pandemic.
The latest data out from Redfin found that Miami was once again the most popular migration destination in Q2. Tampa came in second, followed by Phoenix, Sacramento and Las Vegas.
Rounding out the top 10 were Cape Coral, FL; San Diego; North Port, FL; San Antonio and Dallas.
Los Angeles is a common origin for people relocating to both San Diego and San Antonio, while New Yorkers appear to be the most common expats heading to Florida.
As we’ve been reporting, the Bay Area continues to see some of the most dramatic shifts in the real estate. Redfin notes that San Francisco once again had the highest net outflow of any major U.S. metro in the second quarter, as it did at the top of the year.
