According to Redfin, homebuyers who offered all cash were four times more likely to win a bidding war than those who didn’t offer cash in 2021.
When going all cash wasn’t an option, those buyers who waved the financing contingency were 31 percent more likely to have their deal accepted. Additionally, those who conducted a pre-inspection were 25 percent more likely to win a bidding war.
Redfin analysts looked at thousands of deals from 2021 and found that escalation clauses and/or waiving the inspection contingency did not increase a buyer’s chance of having their offer accepted.
