The Tuscan-inspired estate that Herbalife Co-Founder Dick Marconi spent three decades creating has just hit the market with an asking price of nearly $23 million. Of course, this San San Juan Capistrano is no ordinary home. Or homes, for that matter.
This 1,225 acre ranch lies at the intersections of Orange, San Diego and Riverside Counties, boasting an aviary, greenhouse, wine gazebo, heli pad, swan lake, 23,000 certified organic lemon trees and 1,000 olive trees imported from Pistoia, Italy.
The main house features four bedrooms and three baths across is 5,048 square feet of living space. Across the breezeway, through doors from Hearst Castle, the wine tasting room has temperature-controlled wine storage and a cigar-smoke ventilation system.
The neighboring office, museum and chapel offers a unique workspace, featuring a full-size replica of “La Pieta”, Michelangelo’s sculpture displayed at St. Peter’s Basilica. According to the listing, Marconi commissioned the 10,000 pound statue from the same artisans who repaired the original after it was damaged in 1972. (Though, this statue is not included in the sale, it may be purchased separately.)
Elsewhere on the property, there’s a two-story guest house, gym, pistol range, horse corrals, workshop and art studio and gallery. Of course, there’s also the 51 acre exotic animal preserve, included in the sale, which is home to a giraffe, one dozen zebras, six African Antelope, llamas and a Kudu.
Jody Neal of Berkshire Hathaway holds the listing, offered at $22,950,000. More information can be found here.
