A number of important mortgage rates—including 15-year and 30-year fixed rates—moved up heading into 2022. Here’s how the numbers shook out, according to CNET:
The average 30-year fixed mortgage interest rate ended the year at 3.27 percent, an increase of eight basis points from Christmas just a week earlier. The average rate for a 15-year fixed mortgage is 2.54 percent, up four basis points from the same time last week.
A 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgage has an average rate of 3.26 percent, an increase of eight basis points.
The current average interest rate for a 30-year refinance is 3.25 percent, an increase of nine basis points from the same time last week. The average 15-year fixed refinance rate is 2.51 percent, up six basis points compared to one week ago.
The average 10-year fixed refinance rate is 2.52 percent, an increase of nine basis points.
