Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch has bought the Beaverhead Ranch in southwest Montana in what is being reported as the largest sale in the state’s history. ABC News reports that the ranch was founded in 1865, acquired in 1951 by a company run by Fred Koch.
Spanning some 340,000 acres near Yellowstone National Park along the Montana-Idaho border, the ranch has about 7,000 cattle and is home to 15 families who are employed on the ranch.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the ranch sold for roughly $200 million.
