Following the sale of her Bel Air contemporary earlier this year, Chelsea Handler has been on the house hunt. The search appears to be over, though, with news that Handler has taken actress Cheryl Hines’ Monterey Colonial-inspired home off her hands for a cool $5.85 million.
According to Dirt, the 1937 home was originally listed for $6.2 million. Hines and her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., bought the property in nearly six years ago for $5.2 million.
Located near L.A.’s Mandeville Canyon, the four bedroom/four-and-a-half bath home spans 4,600 swayer feet of living space across the main house. The property also includes a semi-detached converted garage and a 400 square-foot studio space.
Traditional in design yet updated for modern conveniences, the home boasts formal living and dining rooms, a large gourmet kitchen and a hillside backyard that includes a pool and spa.
Jonathan Carr and Ari Afshar of Compass held the listing. Justin Paul Huchel and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland represented Handler.
