A 5,500-square-foot unit in the Light House, a restored San Francisco building once home to the Second Church of Christ, Scientist, has finally sold after four years on the market. The going rate for a home in a former house of God—just under $6.5 million.
According to the Real Deal, the unit was first listed in 2017 for just under $6.8 million before coming off and back on the market a number of times over the next handful of years. At one point, the owners reportedly promoted the listing with the option of paying in Bitcoin.
No word on whether the new owner made good on the cryptocurrency offer, but we do know that the new owner is getting a pretty unique property. The private entry salon features marble floors and a barrel ceiling, while the great room lives up to it’s name with 30 foot ceilings and original woodwork.
Per the listing, the open chef’s kitchen features granite counters, top appliances and tons of storage. The master loft boasts three separate areas overlooking the great room, with an addition two bedrooms and two baths. Of course, the location itself is pretty superb—sitting across from the renovated Dolores Park.
John Woodruff of Aethos Real Estate and Marcus Miller of Helm Real Estate held the listing.
