Charlie’s Angeles director McG (aka Joseph McGinty Nichol) has picked up the 95-year-old Bella Vista Estate for $14.7 million, according to the L.A. Times. The Spanish villa has been home to a number of entertainment names over the years, including John Barrymore and Top Gun director Tony Scott.
Considering the sheer size and location, McG reportedly got himself a pretty sweet deal!
The estate includes a main house, two guest cottages, bungalow and a two-story guesthouse. In all, there are seven bedrooms and 11 baths, not to mention some incredible grounds featuring various walking paths, koi ponds, fountains, and pool.
According to the listing, other amenities include a wine cellar, cigar lounge with a bar, a since-converted aviary and a former opium den.
Per the L.A. Times, the estate was listed in 2015 for $42.5 million along with seven acres of land. The price and land size were steadily reduced since then, most recently listed earlier this year for $15.5 million on one acre.
Kirby Gillon, Bryce Lowe and Aaron Kirman of Compass held the listing. Billy Rose of the Agency represented McG.
