At this point, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, should really have their own section within California Listings, seeing as how frequently the two are buying and selling beautiful homes up and down Southern California.
This time, the duo are back in Beverly Hills with news of an $8.5 million purchase near Coldwater Canyon. Dirt is reporting that DeGeneres and de Rossi picked up the Robert Skinner-designed Midcentury ranch home from talent agent Greg Cavic.
Originally listed for $10 million, the 4,600 square-foot property features five bedrooms, six baths and a host of lux restoration features, including terrazzo floors, Calacatta gold marble countertops, high-end LSI lighting, redwood tongue-and-groove interior and exterior siding, and a new kitchen.
A glass-encased hallway overlooks the outdoors, home to a pool, BBQ and wet bar.
Tori Barnao, Gersh Gershunoff and Aaron Kirman of Compass held the listing, while DeGeneres and de Rossi were repped by Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency.
