The U.S. Census Bureau and Department of Housing and Urban Development’s latest residential construction report shows signs of improvement for the homebuilding industry.
Single-family housing starts in June were up 6.3 percent from May, and up more than 29 percent year-over-year.
Permitting, however was down for both single-family (6.3 percent) and private builds (5.1 percent) compared the ay figures. Housing completions were also down in June. Single-family homes saw a 6.1 percent month-to-month drop, while privately owned completions were down just 1.4 percent.
