Sometimes a location is just too good to pass up that a buyer will take a half-built home in the process.
That seems to have been a motivating factor in the recent sale of Kevin Garnett’s Malibu property, which the L.A. Times reports has sold for $16 million. While that’s no small sale, it is $3.9 million under Garnett’s asking price!
Sitting on three parcels across seven acres off the Pacific Coast Highway, the half-built home comes with plans, permits and approval from the Coastal Commission. The L.A. Times notes that the structure itself is up, but Garnett left the interiors unfinished to allow the buyer to complete it with their own personal taste and style.
Garnett bought the original home and land in 2003 for $6.4 million, and had reportedly been shopping for a buyer off and on for the past three years.
Eric Hassan and Barbara Tenenbaum of Hilton & Hyland held the listing. Griffin Ruderman of Douglas Elliman represented the unknown buyer.
