Elon Musk is making good on his public declaration to sell all of his earthly possessions in preparation for Mars.
After offloading three Bel Air homes in 2020, Musk shared via Twitter that his last California home is now for sale—though no agent or actual listing was provided.
“Decided to sell my last remaining house. Just needs to go to a large family who will live there. It’s a special place.” — Elon Musk (@elonmusk)
A Zillow listing for the address shows the home listed as for sale by owner, with an asking price of $37,500,000.
According to Inman, the 2017 purchase cost Musk a sizable $23.4 million. The entire Hillsborough’s property spans 47 acres, overlooks the Bay Area, and features numerous hiking trails through lush trees and foliage. The home itself includes 10 bedrooms, nine-and-a-half baths, a ballroom, and both catering and personal kitchens.
Musk hinted a sale may be forthcoming earlier this month, once again via Twitter, sharing:
“My primary home is literally a ~$50k house in Boca Chica / Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. It’s kinda awesome though. Only house I own is the events house in the Bay Area. If I sold it, the house would see less use, unless bought by a big family, which might happen some day.” — Elon Musk (@elonmusk)
