The Texas broker originally won the title in 2016 with 3,556 annual sales! By how much did Caballero break his record this time?
Back in 2016, when the Guinness World Record category for most annual home sales transactions through MLS by an individual sell side real estate agent was announced as a new addition to the anthology, Texas broker Ben Caballero easily took top prize with 3,556 annual sales. Since then, he has defended that title, even breaking his own record in 2018 with 5,801 sales.
Now, according to HomesUSA.com (a site Caballero founded), as reported by Inman, Caballero has done it again. HomesUSA.com reports that Caballero sold 6,438 homes in 2020—637 more homes than his second Guinness World Record! Last year’s haul is reported to be worth an estimated $2.46 billion.
So, how does one average 120 new sales a week, pandemic or not? As Inman notes, Caballero only works with homebuilders to sell newly constructed homes. He has more than 60 builder clients in Houston, Dallas-FortWorth, Austin and San Antonio. If each builder average 100+ homes, and with the intense demand of the market, you get more than 6,000 home sales.
Caballero plans to formally apply for a third Guinness World Record title.
