Actress and fitness icon Suzanne Somers has reportedly closed a relatively quick sale on some major land in Palm Springs. The Desert Sun newspaper, by way of the New York Post, shared that Somers sold her Mount San Jacinto compound for $8.5 million, after listing the 28 acre property in January.
In all, the buyers are picking up five structures consisting of the main house and four villas, totaling seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The Desert Sun notes that one of the villas, famously called “The Rock House,” was designed by lauded modernist architect Albert Frey.
There is also a “secret” 2,000+ bottle wine cellar, an outdoor amphitheater carved into the mountain with seating for 50, as well as a pool, spa, hiking trails and a natural waterfall.
Sommers and her husband, Alan Hamel, purchased the property in 1977 for just $420,000! The couple has tempted real estate fate over the years, at one time listing the compound for as much as $35 million.
