Developer and frequent Real Housewives of Beverly Hills guest star Mohamed Hadid may soon bring his legally challenged Bel Air build to a close.
After years of legal challenges with city officials, Hadid was ordered to abandon of his partially-built 53,000 square feet mansion and demolish what had already been built as the mountain-side setting presented a “clear and present danger” to the homes directly underneath. The case even with to the California Supreme Court, who rejected Hadid’s final appeal to overturn the demolition order on the property.
Now, the New York Post reports that Hadid has found a possible buyer for the property, who has agreed to demolish the home following closing. The new buyer will essentially pay $8.5 million to tear down and rebuild on Strada Vecchia Road, offering the “rare opportunity to build a world class estate featuring views of the city and surrounding canyon,” per the listing.
According to Yahoo! News, Hadid was ordered to serve 200 hours community service and cover a $3,000 and city costs of $14,000 for illegally building the home after pleading no contest to criminal charges related to it. Hadid was then sued by his would-be neighbors regarding the illegal construction. In 2019, Hadid’s company filed for bankruptcy just days after the court order to demolish the property.
Stephen Resnick and Jonathan Nash of Hilton & Hyland are representing the listing.
