Mortgage rates fell for the second consecutive week, hovering around 3 percent percent, per Freddie Mac.
For a 30-year fixed rate, the average rate is currently at 3.04 percent from 3.13 percent the previous week
The current average interest rate for 15-year fixed is 2.35 percent, a decrease from 2.42 percent week-over-week.
For 10-year fixed refinances, the average rate is currently at 2.37 percent, a decrease of four basis points since last week.
Black Knight, a mortgage technology and data provider, told Yahoo Money that at this week’s rate, more than 13 million high-quality homeowners could shave at least three-quarters of a point off their current rate, an increase of 2 million from last week. Black Knight projects that, on average, those homeowners could save $283-500 a month with current re-fi rates.
