RISMedia’s 2021 Power Broker Report has been released, ranking the top 1,000 Power Brokers by 2020 sales volume. Realogy Brokerage Group out of Madison, New Jersey was once again named top broker, with $184,582,770,000 in total sales volume across 333,737 agents.
Realogy Brokerage Group is the nation’s largest owner and operator of residential real estate brokerages with operations in more than 50 of the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. Per their website, most operations are affiliated with Realogy’s franchise brands, Coldwell Banker, Sotheby’s International Realty, and The Corcoran Group, as well as a robust commercial real estate operation under the Coldwell Banker Commercial brand.
Popular California brokerage Douglas Elliman came in fourth with $29,057,987,743 in sales across 22,674 transactions.
Notably absent from this year’s Power Broker is Compass, who RISMedia says declined to separate residential and commercial sales volume data. Last year, Compass ranked No. 3, reporting $93,536,777,157 in sales volume for 2019. Compass reported $151.7 billion in gross transaction value for 2020.
