Pre-Covid, the concept of coworking was on everyone’s mind. WeWork and it’s counterparts were taking up spaces all across Southern California, as everyone from entrepreneurs and startups to mid-size companies began moving in.
And then everyone was told to work from home.
As companies large and small begin to imagine what a “return to work” looks like post-COVID, the L.A. Business Journal reports that coworking spaces are eyeing a comeback, with a number of companies preparing to move into or expand in L.A.
With a number of locations up and running in San Diego, Union Cowork expanded to Downtown Los Angeles in the fall. After news that it would terminate it’s lease on space bordering West Hollywood, WeWork opened a new Beverly Hills location, while a new competitor with a family friendly philosophy sets to move minutes away.
BumoWork, a members-only workspace, is set to open its first location in the Westfield Century City mall later this spring—a space that will feature it’s signature child care program for little ones under 6 years old.
According to the L.A. Business Journal, BumoWork’s fees range from $300 for weekend-only care to $4,000 a month for a full care and coworking membership.
In addition to BumoWork, Yoube has plans to open a coworking popup in West Adams this spring. Meanwhile, Neuehouse’s Venice is set to open soon, after a delayed launch during the pandemic.
Head to the L.A. Business Journal for more of the coworking spaces coming to SoCal and how the pandemic has created an opportunity for workspace reinvention.
