If you’ve been missing in-person home tours over the past year, then head on out to the desert because Modernism Week returns to Palm Springs April 8-18!
The annual gathering of midcentury and modern architecture and design enthusiasts is typically held in February, but organizers opted to wait until April in hopes that COVID numbers would be low enough to afford some in-person events. That bet has paid off, with the announcement that this year’s Modernism Week will include more than 20 tours and events in the Palm Springs area.
Among the lineup, interior and exterior homes tours will be open for timed, ticketed, socially distanced visits. One of the homes, a new build by architect Raymond Kappe, is being heralded as one of the most significant architectural events to happen in Palm Springs in several decades. Additional tours of builds featuring the work of Sean Lockyer, Stan Sackley, John Lautner and Lawrence Lapham are on the schedule throughout the week as well.
