Restaurateur Dana Hollister has just listed the famed Paramour Estate, a near century-old mansion sitting on 4.3 acres in L.A.’s Silver Lake neighborhood. The 22,000 square-foot home was built in 1923 by Robert D. Farquhar, who famously built Beverly Hills High School.
The L.A. Times reports that the storied past of the estate includes it’s use as a boarding school for orphaned girls during the Great Depression, and later as a convent for nuns. The Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception sold to Hollister in 1998 for $2.25 million.
Hollister has done quite a bit of reno and revamp on the space since then, eventually turning the space into a rental property for weddings and events.
The home itself includes 15 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, a ballroom with a 150 person capacity, beautiful manicured grounds, a pool, and parking for up to 50 cars.
Sally Forster Jones of Compass holds the listing.
