The National Association of Realtors just launched part one of six in it’s new series: Policy, Practice, Process: Transforming Neighborhoods through Equitable Revitalization. NAR reports that while vacant, abandoned and deteriorated (VAD) properties have long plagued communities across the country, the economic shock brought on by COVID make the need for coordination and strategic revitalization interventions even more critical.
“Collaboration is a key part of addressing widespread vacancy and our country’s complicated past of racism and discrimination,” said Dr. Akilah Watkins, CEO and President at the Center for Community Progress, which is partnering with NAR on the webinar series. “Our success hinges on our ability to work together from community to national stages. When we partner, communities benefit.”
