After months of living a life of “normalcy” in Beverly Hills, Prince Harry and the former Meghan Markle have reportedly purchased a luxury sprawl in the heart of Montecito.
Per the L.A. Times, Santa Barbara-area agents point to a $14.65-million 7-acre estate, which closed in an off-market sale in June. So what does nearly $15 million get you in Montecito? Nine bedrooms in the 14,500-square-foot main house, a two-bedroom guesthouse, tennis court, swimming pool—not to mention 16 bathrooms!
Turns out the formerly royal couple got a bit of a steal, too. The compound’s seller, Russian businessman Sergey Grishin, acquired the estate in 2009 for $25.3 million and records show multiple unsuccessful sale attempts over the past decade.
Montecito has long been a favorite close-to-LA-escape for the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Rob Lowe, and more recently, Ariana Grande. Of course, with his Apple TV producing partner Oprah nearby in her famed 42-acre estate, we’re sure Harry is feeling very welcome in the new neighborhood.
