Marin County supervisors are considering a temporary ban on new residential vacation rentals amid the area’s housing shortage, according to the S.F. Chronicle.
Set for a formal vote on Tuesday, should the ordinance pass Marin County would stop issuing new licenses for short-term rentals for 45 days. The ordinance could then be extended for up to two years.
According to local tax records published in the S.F. Chronicle, only 43 percent of all residential parcels in western Marin County are primary homes.
