We may be in the business of residential real estate, but every now and then a commercial listing catches our eye. And this historic Pasadena theatre is giving us some true real estate envy!
The 1,200 seat Ambassador Auditorium is set to be listed next month for $45 million. Called by some as “the Carnegie Hall of the West”, the hall was built as both a facility to be used by the Worldwide Church of God , college functions for the then adjacent Ambassador College, and as a concert hall for public performances.
The property is being shopped by Harvest Rock Church, who bought the building in 2004 for $19 million.
The auditorium includes the 1,224 seat theater and seven additional event spaces, plus the outdoor plaza, famed bronze sculpture designed by renowned artist David Wynn and a water feature. Constructed in 1974 by the architectural firm Daniel, Mann, Johnson and Mendenhall, the Ambassador Auditorium exemplifies Midcentury design and has been meticulously preserved to maintain its historic integrity.
Isidora Fridman and Lauren Rauschenberg with Compass hold the listing.
