The real estate game in California is a competitive one! That was one of the core reasons we launched CaliforniaListings.com nearly two years ago, and also why rankings of who the best of the best are can be so valuable.
U.S. News & World Report took a look at the leading real estate companies in California and has produced its list of the best. And a number of our very own neighborhood experts are represented at their respective companies!
Coldwell Banker took the top spot, with a noted 75 offices spread across California. Included among their hundreds of agents are CaliforniaListings.com‘s Montecito expert Randy Solakian and Camarillo expert Rosemary Allison.
With close to 200 offices throughout California, Keller Williams came in at no. 2 on the list. Keller Williams has been awarded the distinction of being a top franchise for veterans and a top female-friendly company, among other accolades, and is also home to our Nichols Canyon expert Josh Canova.
The always talked-about Compass lands at no. 3, with Mr. Malibu himself, Chris Cortazzo, breaking and setting sales record up and down the coast. Compass operates more than 300 offices across 67 U.S. markets, including offices in Oakland, San Jose, L.A., San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Santa Rosa, San Diego, Pasadena and Sacramento. Our Laguna Beach expert Mike Johnson and San Juan Capistrano expert Robyn Robinson are also longtime Compass stars.
Known for its focus on luxury real estate, Sotheby’s came in at no. 5. Sotheby’s operates 115 offices throughout California and counts our own Robin Walpert, Venice/Venice Beach expert, among its standout agents.
Boutique brand the Agency follows on the U.S. News list. Studio City expert Dennis Chernov famously joined the Agency at the top of last year—and has continued to see his sales rise ever since. Additionally, L.A. expert Fred Dapp is also one of the Agency’s rising stars.
Other companies that made the top 10 include the Altman Brothers, eXp Realty, NorCal operation Big Block Realty North, Santa Barbara-based Village Properties and Real Estate Experts.
