Leave it to the O.C. Register’s Jonathan Lansner to keep it simple: Nearly one-third of local neighborhoods have a median selling price of $1 million or more. That’s two-times the share from two years prior.
With the release of June’s sales numbers, Lansner found that Orange County now has a whopping 26 million-dollar zip codes, out of 83 across the county. Using the same formula, there are only nine zip codes in Orange County with average pricing below $666,667.
Some 32 percent of all homes sold countywide in June came out of the aforementioned million-dollar zip codes.
Lansner also notes that prices rose in 79 of the 83 zip codes in Orange County last month. Additionally, 61 of those neighborhood’s have now seen year-over-year increases of $100,000 or more.
