One of L.A.’s priciest listings may have sold for a $15 million discount, but that didn’t stop it from becoming the largest Los Angeles sale of the year. Located in the famed Bird Streets of the hills, the spec home that was listed for $78 million last fall has just sold for $62.8 million.
Completely private and secluded behind gates, the eight bedroom/18 bath home boasts an inspiring two-story entry with a sweeping staircase, a spectacular living room, gourmet kitchen, separate chef’s kitchen, formal dining room, home theater and a library.
There is also a full spa with a gym, sauna, cold plunge and lap pool. Outside, there’s also an outdoor kitchen, infinity pool, pickle ball court and large entertaining spaces.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the sellers are Brandon and Deborah Shainfeld, founders of real-estate development firm Alpha Empire Designs, who paid $11.2 million for the site in 2017. They then demolished the existing house to build the estate that stands today.
Kurt Rappaport and Andreas Elsenhans of Westside Estate Agency held the listing, while Helen Chong and Susanna Leung of Haylen Group repped the buyer.
