A familiar face has retuned to Compass with news that industry vet Bob Gerlach is joining the brokerage’s NorCal leadership team. Focusing on the Palo Alto market, Gerlach returns to Compass as a Sales Manager.
In his role in Palo Alto, Gerlach will work as a part of the Compass management team to uphold Compass’ commitment as the most agent-centric brokerage in the U.S.
Gerlach retired from Compass in 2021 after beginning his career in the industry on the Peninsula in 1977. Early in his career, Gerlach opened Fox and Carskadon’s Palo Alto office, then moved to Alain Pinel Real Estate, where he was a founding sales leader. After the sale of APR to Compass in 2018, Gerlach continued as Sales Manager for the Palo Alto flagship office on University Avenue.
“We’re seeing a lot of real estate professionals return to Compass after a short stint away,” says Compass Regional Vice President for Northern California, Kevin Patsel. “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome an industry veteran back into the Compass fold. I couldn’t be more excited to have Bob return to lead our Compass Palo Alto operation and bring his years of real estate expertise and market knowledge to bear for our agents.”
“Once I retired, I missed the interaction with the agents, clients and colleagues from other brokerages,” says Gerlach. “Compass offers the best resources for our agents in this competitive real estate market in the epicenter of Silicon Valley.”
