It may not be big and flashy, but actor Brad Pitt has picked himself up a unique coastal property for an eye-catching price.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Pitt has made an off-market deal to acquire the D.L. James House for $40 million—making it one of the priciest sales ever closed in the Carmel area.
The property dates to 1918 and was designed by Charles Sumner Greene, a prominent early 20th Century architect. Per the Wall Street Journal, the D.L. James House is built from locally quarried sandstone and granite, with arched windows, a tiled Mediterranean-style roof and sweeping views of the ocean.
