The L.A. LGBT Center is preparing to open two brand-new buildings aimed at one big goal—providing permanent supportive housing to some of the cities most vulnerable.
Urbanize reports that construction is wrapping on the Ariadne Getty Foundation Senior Housing Complex—a six-story building featuring 100 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Nearly all units will be designated for low-income adults over the age of 62.
On the other side of the Center’s Anita May Rosenstein Campus, the younger generation will have an opportunity to create safe space to call their own at the Michael John Horne & Thomas Eugene Jones Youth Housing building. It is there that 26 apartments will be available to transition-age youth, ages 16-24, who are experiencing homelessness.
KFA Architecture has been the principle lead on both projects, which are scheduled to open this Spring.
