Placer County Supervisors have approved zoning changes intended to remove barriers to housing development.
In a 4-1 vote, the supes approved rezoning land parcels to encourage infill housing, according to the Sacramento Bee. Additionally, the approval updates multifamily and mixed-use design manuals intended to standardize the review process for new housing, reducing the time and cost for construction of multifamily homes.
The zoning changes are said to likely have the most effect in high-concentration infill lots between existing housing developments. These include areas in North Auburn, Penryn, Granite Bay, Alpine Meadows and Northstar.
