Updated January 9:
We now know who the lucky homeowner is behind one of the largest sales in California for 2022! The buyer is Edward “Ted” Hamm Jr., an Oscar-nominated movie producer and heir to the Hamm’s Beer fortune. Hamm produced hit movies including Get Out and BlacKkKlansman.
Talk about ending the year with a bang!
A Malibu home once listed for $125 million has found a buyer just in time to make the top sales of the year list. The 6.7-acre estate in the exclusive Paradise Cove area has sold for an even $91 million.
Featuring eight bedrooms and 11 baths, and marketed as one of Southern California’s most significant properties, the property boasts resort-like grounds, including a swimming pool, north/south lighted championship tennis court, guest house and private beach access. Interior features include a grand two-story foyer, gourmet kitchen with a breakfast room rotunda, full movie theater with state-of-the-art electronics, two offices and a gym.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the sellers were British videogame designer Jonathan Burton and his ex-wife. Records show they bought the property for $36.5 million in 2012.
Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency and Lisa Laughlin of Sotheby’s International Realty held the listing, while Paul Lester and Aileen Comora of the Agency repped the buyer.
