If you’ve been thinking all has been quiet on Ellen DeGeneres’ real estate front—think again. Word is Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi has picked up the world-renowned Brown-Sidney House in an off-market sale for $29 million.
The Bel Air property was originally designed by Midcentury architect Richard Neutra, later restored by Marmol Radziner, and boasts just three bedrooms, six baths and 3,795 square feet of living space. The update includes a palette of muted browns and grays, including dark brown casework throughout the home, that unifies the interior spaces outfitted with modern amenities.
Designer Tom Ford is responsible for the fresh coat, which occurred prior to his sale of the property for $20 million to billionaire hedge fund trader Adam Levinson three years ago. Which means Levinson made himself a pretty little profit on the recent sale to DeGeneres.
