In honor of Latinx-Hispanic Heritage Month, the Local Real Estate Group has announced the launch of El Local. The new division is dedicated to better serve the real estate needs of Los Angeles’ Spanish-speaking communities.
Spearheaded by Edith Reyna, El Local was created to help the Hispanic and Latino community through every step of the real estate process in an effort to further increase homeownership rates and support the creation of generational wealth for a historically underserved segment of the population.
“This is a demographic that has been grossly underserved by subpar brokers and agents alike,” said Kurt Wisner, real estate principal and founder of parent group, The Local. “Throughout the years, Hispanic and Latino communities have had limited access to the latest information, financing options, best-in-class technology and many more differentiating factors that are necessary to win in a competitive housing market. In partnering with Compass, El Local is able to offer clients unparalleled support coupled with strong business ethics, strategic thinking and latest in cutting-edge real estate technology designed to help the Spanish-speaking communities achieve the dream of homeownership.”
As part of the Local Real Estate Group, El Local will work alongside a 16-person team of agents and support personnel that last year recorded nearly $200 million in sales, from entry-level condos to multimillion-dollar mansions. Upon launch, El Local’s dedicated Spanish-speaking team will aim to provide services that include supporting identifying appropriate financing options, premier marketing, staging and design services and educational seminars.
“People of color have have often faced discrimination when pursuing homeownership,” said Reyna. “I’ve seen many challenges throughout the loan process, appraisal process and more—all extremely important factors that lead to increasing a family’s financial stability for generations to come. I look forward to championing my community through the efforts of El Local and delivering tailored solutions meticulously designed to empower Los Angeles’ hispanic and Spanish-speaking home buyers and sellers.”
